Bear Grylls Adventure Birmingham

Yesterday we travelled up to Birmingham for Lee’s birthday present to take part in the Bear Grylls Adventure! This was such a fun filled activity day and I would recommend this to all adventurous people! We started with base base camp which involved a survival maze (I wasn’t overly impressed with this and hoped the day would get better - which it did) where there were challenges such a walking through a pitch black room, eating bugs (mine may have accidentally fell on the floor) and looking at spiders and snakes in enclosures. From here we went onto the escape maze which was actually pretty hard and we didn’t manage to escape in the time frame but when we came out we were told how to do it and we missed a trick! (No spoilers here). We finished base camp with Archery which I was surprisingly really good at, hitting the target with every bow! (I felt like we were in the hunger games!) There was also an assult course you could do but we gave this one a miss as we were running out of time.

The next activity we done was the high ropes. You start the activity with a zip line out of the building and down to the high ropes course. These were really fun and the best part was the high ropes were over a few levels and in a square so you could take any route you wanted and didn’t get stuck behind anyone! The only thing I would say is you run out of time very quickly so start at the top and work your way down. We only got to do the second level and top level but had a brilliant time! There was even a challenge on the highest level where you walk the plank get right to the end and have to turn around and walk back without falling off! This is perfect for all of you adrenaline junkies out there!

We prebooked the food so it worked out £9.50 each for a 10 inch pizza, snack and a drink which was plenty as the pizza was really filling! I went for the BBQ chicken pizza and it was so good! After lunch we had our final challenge - the Climb! We started with bouldering but I could not do this as the steps to climb on were really small and my Nike free runs didn’t have much grip so I kept slipping off as I tried to climb (make sure you take grippy trainers for this one!) We sat this one out and waited for the main climbing walls which I thought I may have struggled at but these were much better. Lee actually suggested going home and skipping this as he didn’t think he’d like it but I’m so glad I made him carry on as he absolutely loved it and was really good at climbing - getting the highest out of everyone on the hardest climbs! This was so much fun and such a challenge but great exercise too (my arms were feeling it this morning!)

They also have scuba diving and indoor skydiving activities available too but we just chose to do 2 of the extras. There is plenty here for everyone if your not good with heights or don’t like climbing! I would definetely recommend coming here and would go back again in the future!
