For Jodie’s hen do at the end of November 2018 a big group of us flew over to Edinburgh for a girls weekend of drinks and sightseeing. We got an evening flight on the Friday night and arrived at our hotel - Best Western Kings Manor at around 10pm.

The hotel was decent. Comfortable beds and enough space to move in the room which was all we needed and was cheap enough for the weekend.

We dumped our stuff in the room and headed out to check out the town. Following a recommendation we got a taxi down to the Dome to get in the Christmas spirit and oh my gosh it was beautiful! It was so posh  and the lights were stunning - the perfect way to begin the festivities!

After a couple of drinks we headed across the road to a bar we could sit down in for a drink and a chat before heading back to the hotel for the evening.

The next morning we woke up and went to the centre to do a bit of sightseeing. We walked up to the castle to have a look and then wandered down to the Christmas market where we had a mooch and enjoyed some baileys hot chocolate and mulled wine! The markets were so pretty and Christmassy... I loved it!

We couldn’t stay out for too long as we had to get back and get ready for the evening ahead. We had booked a cocktail making masterclass followed by a meal at the slug and lettuce. This was so much fun, there was such a good atmosphere, the cocktails were good and the food was nice too! We stayed here for a few hours before heading to Le mond where I stayed for the rest of my night. (I had a bad knee and was in pain so headed back after this whilst the bride and a few others carried on to a local club). Le mond was so fun, the music was great and there was a great vibe in the bar - I would definitely recommend!

On the final day we woke up (feeling a little hungover) and got a minibus back into the centre for a last little walk around before heading back to the airport to finish off our weekend. Overall I really enjoyed Edinburgh (minus the weather) and would say it’s definitely a place worth visiting!
