Yesterday afternoon myself and 3 others travelled to London for Iona’s hen do. We checked into the hotel ‘Central Park Finsbury Park’ for our stay. We got a bargain with this hotel. After paying £64.44 for one night in a quadruple room we were not expecting a lot but we were quite impressed with the value for money. Don’t get me wrong it was a very basic budget hotel but just what we needed to get ours heads down for the night and the room was spacious enough for 4 of us to get ready in. The room was clean and the beds although not quite my home standard of comfort they weren’t awful and we all slept fine. We had little shower gel and soaps provided in the bathroom and tea/coffee in the room.
Our £16.11 each stay even included a continental breakfast buffet which we couldn’t complain at when we all woke up after a heavy night of drinking!
The Oktoberfest event started at 4pm and when we got there it’s was pretty empty for a while which is expected for a Friday afternoon as most people are at work but as we had the VIP tickets we used this time to get our meals that were included and have a few drinks. Our package included VIP entrance and tables with our own VIP portaloos, a meal, a pretzel snack, 2 1.5 pints of beer an Underberg shot and a glass of sparkling wine.
The food was nice but not sure we would have ordered if it wasn’t included in our package but the 1/2 chicken looked the best value for money and the nicest meal. The german beer was decent and the sparkling wine was our favourite! I wouldn’t recommend the shot it’s the worst shot I’ve ever tasted! The live band playing were brilliant, the beers were flowing and we were all dancing and having a great time. At around 6.30pm it began to get busier and the tent ended up quite full but not too crowded towards the end. We had such a fun night singing dancing and messing around. A lot of people were in fancy dress and no one took themselves too seriously which made the night so much more fun! It was like a giant pub environment and we loved it!
