A Girls Holiday to Ibiza

Writer's picture: Danielle WheelerDanielle Wheeler

In July 2015 I went on a girls holiday to Ibiza for 4 days. We left from Southend Airport, super excited for a boozy few days.

When we got to Hotel Mare Nostrum in Playa D'en Bossa, it was very basic but done the job and provided us somewhere to sleep and a pool to sunbathe around. a bonus was that we were also a short walk away from the beach! We also spent as awful lot of time on our balcony (especially for pre drinks). The first night we headed out to a bar for a few drinks before moving onto Pacha where Bob Sinclar was DJing. This was our first experience of the big clubs in Ibiza and it did not disappoint. We had such a good night before getting a taxi back to the hotel in the early hours of the morning.

A lot of our time during the days were spent around the hotel pool (smothered in tanning oil) trying to catch as much of a tan as humanly possible. We would get in at around 6am, have a couple of hours sleep and then head down to the pool when it opened to finish sleeping in the sun.

Whilst we were out here it was Sian's birthday so we headed down to Ocean Beach for the day with a VIP bed and a couple of jugs of cocktails. This was a really good day out, with Kisstory playing in the background and plenty to keep us entertained whilst we enjoyed a few drinks in the sun and was worth the money we paid for the bed. The only downside was that my phone decided to get a bit wet and break on me which was annoying but the staff were really helpful and vacuum packed it in rice for me.

We were advised whilst in Ibiza to head down to Cafe Mambo to watch the sunset, so we did. Unfortunately the day we went was very cloudy but it was still rather pretty to watch.

Every evening we decided to experience one of the big clubs, from Pacha, to Privilege, to rolling out of Space pissed as parrots at 6am, and our final night in Amnesia. Each one of these clubs were an experience and we had a really fun time - although we were knackered and had to force ourselves to go out some nights!

As much as I loved Ibiza I wouldn't choose to come back in a hurry as I felt like I needed another holiday to recover after the weekend and I had seen everything I wanted to on the Island so would rather explore somewhere else.
